Welcome to the MPARC Amateur Radio Club

Welcome to the newly redesigned web site for MPARC. We are an amateur radio club serving the Middle Peninsula area of Virginia. We hope you will take some time and read about the club and our upcoming activities.

 Upcoming Activities

At our September 06 2022 club meeting we will have a special guest speaker. Gloucester County Emergency Manager, Jane Wenner, will give a presentation on the counties emergency management plans, goals and inclusion of ham radio. We look forward to seeing everyone who can make it there. She will be speaking at the beginning of our meeting and we will hold our club business at the conclusion of her presentation. I will be also broadcasting the presentation via zoom for those not able to attend.

July 30, 2022 - Thanks to everyone who joined us at the 1st Annual MPARC picnic. Thankfully, we had no rain although 15° cooler would have been nice. We had a chance to meet new friends and visit with some old ones. This was a wonderful time for fellowship.

Thanks to Debbie (KN4PKA), Becky (KN4PKD), Joy (W2JMS) and Alan (KM4VTT) for planning and setting-up this event.

Special thanks to Pedro (KM4INA) for the music, Dean (N2TNN) and Becky (KN4PKD) for cornhole, Alan (KM4VTT) for running the cornhole tournament and grilling the burgers, dogs, and brats along with Debbie’s husband, Bill.   Will (K4MI) for handling the raffles, Bob (KM4WYJ) for the donated ham equipment for our raffle and everyone for the delicious food & desserts, and to everyone who helped set-up and clean-up.

We are deeming this a very successful event and are already planning the next one.

Our second annual swap meet was held on May 7, 2022 at the Abingdon Ruritan Club. Those that did attend were happy and had the pick of the litter! Raffle winners were ecstatic and most everyone indicated they would be looking forward to next year. We hope to see more in 2023.
